Author Kevin Severin poses for a portrait.

Elegance and intention in every detail.

This space is a collection of the things I love creating — photography, film and writing. Some stories are told through images, some through motion and some through words, whether that’s poetry, short stories or the novel I’m working on.

I’ve always been drawn to work that feels elegant but personal. Nothing overly polished or forced — just thoughtful storytelling, strong visuals and details that actually mean something.

I invite you to explore my work.

Process & Perspective

I’m drawn to the little details, natural light and compositions that feel easy but intentional.

Whether it’s photography, film or writing, I care about capturing people, places and the atmosphere around them in a way that feels lasting.

My style leans simple and intentional. I like when every frame, word and choice has a reason behind it. Clean, thoughtful and never overdone — that’s the balance I’m always chasing.

Through my Eyes

My visual work spans photography and film — each shaping the other. I explore the same underlying question from different angles: how do memories, relationships, places and emotions shape who we become?

Each piece is part of a larger body of work centered on lasting resonance.

Stories & Verse

I write about the moments that end up defining us.

Through poetry and short fiction, I’m always chasing work that feels personal and human.

Reflections of a sunset on a body of water with a peninsula and low hanging clouds in the background.

Against the backdrop of a storm-tossed sea, a fisherman’s pursuit unfolds. This is the quiet story of risk, patience and the rewards that come when least expected.

Storm Season

A childhood memory of a storm in rural Oklahoma unfolds into a meditation on fear, vulnerability and the moments that shape how we understand safety. What begins as chaos and confusion reveals itself as something protective.

Bridges We Never Burned

Graphic reading 'Coming Soon'.

My debut novel weaves together love, loss and the choices that define us.

When Oliver reconnects with Isla, what starts as a familiar conversation slowly turns into something deeper. As their relationship unfolds, they’re forced to confront old versions of themselves, unfinished feelings and the question of whether some people are meant to find their way back to each other.

At its core, Bridges We Never Burned is about second chances, emotional honesty and the relationships that continue shaping us long after we think they’re over.

Long Story Short

This is where travel, ideas and everyday moments come together. A collection of observations, experiences and stories from the places I’ve been and the things that catch my attention along the way.
