Author Kevin Severin poses for a portrait.

Writer. Photographer. Filmmaker.

This space is home to the stories and projects that matter most to me – writing, film and photography. Storytelling has long been one of the great joys of my life.

Since 2015, I’ve created more than 20 short films, built a collection of photographs, shared essays and reflections through my blog, and begun work on my first novel. Creating meaningful work gives purpose to my life, and my curiosity continues to push me toward new ideas, skills and experiences.

I’m glad you’re here. Take a look around.

Have you ever experienced a moment so profound that you knew it meant something more? I don't claim to have mastered a particular creative process, but I do believe in the power of authentically capturing those soulful moments and preserving them.

Meaning is at the heart of everything I create. Storytelling matters to me because the best stories bring us closer to who we truly are, whether through the written word or a camera lens. Many of my favorite memories began as something small before blossoming into unexpected opportunities, reminding me that life’s best chapters often start with a single moment. Carpe Diem.

Through my Eyes

My visual work explores landscapes, motion, atmosphere, perspective, collage and avant-garde – each influencing the other. Every frame is infused with feeling, inviting you into the spaces that form the architecture of my imagination.

Between the lines of every story, meaning reveals itself. Through poetry and short fiction, I explore the humanizing moments, enduring emotions and shared experiences that shape our lives.

Stories & Verse

Set against the restless backdrop of a storm-tossed sea, Ambition follows a fisherman determined to land the sailfish of a lifetime. Through risk, patience and perseverance, he discovers that the most meaningful rewards often arrive when they are least expected.

Bridges We Never Burned

Bridges We Never Burned is a contemporary love story about the connections that shape our lives and the choices that determine who we become.

When Harry meets Isabel, their bond leaves an imprint neither of them expects. As the years pass, Harry navigates love, loss, ambition and the difficult decisions that come with growing older. When their paths cross again years later, he is forced to confront a question that has followed him for much of his life: Which bridges are worth crossing again, and which were meant to be burned?

Told through Harry's perspective, Bridges We Never Burned explores timing, second chances and the lasting impact of the people we never fully leave behind.

Beneath the Surface

Isolated at a secluded lakeside cabin, a tense family gathering begins to unravel when whispers of a hidden truth rise to the surface. As suspicion shifts from one member to the next, the still waters outside contrast a growing paranoia within: everyone feels targeted, yet everyone is hiding the same insecurity. With every conversation hiding another layer, Beneath the Surface becomes a psychological descent into paranoia, exploring how a family can be profoundly identical, yet dangerously alienated – and the truth may be darker than anyone imagined.
